Lace Grace Revolt

«‎Lace Grace Revolt»

A group exhibition of Russian women artists marking the launch of the Alan Nekhay Foundation.

Alanya Kültür Merkezi, Alanya/Antalya, Türkiye

May 15th – May 20th 2025

The Alan Nekhay Foundation presents the exhibition "Lace Grace Revolt"— the inaugural programmatic statement of this new institution dedicated to supporting contemporary artists and critically reconsidering the concepts of equality, sustainability, and representation. The project, which is already taking shape in Turkey, opens up new avenues for intercultural engagement and offers another option to incorporate Russian contemporary art into the worldwide conversation.

The exhibition's central theme is a re-examination of femininity, the body, materiality, and identity through the lens of intersectional analysis.

The exhibition title relates to a set of meanings that reveals three key features of the female experience: Lace indicates the "weaving" of meanings and conceptual connection, Grace highlights the exquisite plasticity of creative gestures and the depth of nonverbal impact, Revolt represents resistance to exclusion and the construction of a new subjectivity.

The exhibition features work by both established and upcoming artists, such as:
